Juan Mata insists that "revenge" will not be on Manchester United's mind when they travel to Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Juan Mata has insisted that "revenge" will not be on Manchester United's mind when the Red Devils travel to Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Chelsea recorded a 4-0 win over United in the corresponding match at Stamford Bridge last season as Jose Mourinho suffered embarrassment on his return to the Blues.

Former Chelsea attacker Mata has said that United will not be looking to get one over on the Premier League champions this weekend, however, rather attempt to collect all the points for their own reasons.

"No, there's not revenge on my mind. [They are] totally different games, what happened last season, happened last season and now we have to think in the present," Mata told reporters.

"We have to rest after today and from Thursday we have to start to think about the game. It's always a difficult game playing Chelsea away but we will try our best. It's always difficult to play against the top teams, but those are the games you want to play, me included.

"There is a lot of pressure around the game but obviously we will try to play our best football and try to win and come back to Manchester with three points. It'll be tough but we'll try."

United are currently second in the Premier League table - four points above fourth-placed Chelsea.
