Wayne Rooney has praised the appointment of Jose Mourinho as Manchester United's new manager.
The Red Devils hired the self-proclaimed 'special one' on a three-year deal last week as a replacement for Louis van Gaal.
Mourinho, who had been out of work since getting sacked by Chelsea in December, is an admirer of Rooney as he reportedly tried to sign the England captain in the summer of 2013.
During a pre-Euro 2016 press conference, Rooney was asked about Mourinho's arrival, to which the 30-year-old replied: "He's one of the best managers in the world. It is exciting times for myself and all the other Manchester United players."
Mourinho will meet his players on July 7 before the squad embark on a pre-season tour of China.
