Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists that the club are moving in the right direction despite another disappointing Premier League defeat.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has insisted that the club have "started something" despite the disappointment of Sunday's 2-0 loss at Watford.

The team's tally of 25 points from 18 matches means that they have made their worst ever start to a Premier League campaign.

Solskjaer has insisted that while he was "very disappointed" with the two-goal defeat at Vicarage Road, the Norwegian is confident that the club are moving in the right direction.

"We are very disappointed today, but four hours ago we would have talked about this more positively. We know we have started something with the rebuild, but today, at this moment, I am very disappointed," Solskjaer told reporters.

"There is no excuses, we prepared well. You cannot really blame the traffic incident (United's coach was late to the stadium). An hour here should be enough to prepare for this game."

United will be back at Old Trafford on Boxing Day with Newcastle United making the trip to Manchester.
