Manchester United striker Robin van Persie believes that his side have passed their first real test this season after a successful festive period.
United beat Newcastle United, West Bromwich Albion and Wigan Athletic as well as drawing with Swansea City to take 10 points from 12 over Christmas.
The Red Devils also extended their lead at the top of the table to seven points, and the Dutch international feels the side are in good shape to win back their Premier League crown.
"December is always a difficult month and I feel we have come through this period as we wanted to," said Van Persie.
"Hopefully we can now push on for the rest of the season."
