Man United injury, suspension news vs. Aston Villa: Will Kobbie Mainoo, Mason Mount feature?

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Aston Villa.

Manchester United will be aiming to end a four-game winless run in all competitions when they head to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils will enter the match off the back of a pulsating 3-3 draw with Porto in the Europa League on Thursday, with Harry Maguire netting a last-gasp leveller for the English club.

Erik ten Hag's side lost 3-0 to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League last weekend, meanwhile, and they currently sit down in 13th position in the table on seven points from six matches.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's injury and suspension news ahead of their contest with Villa, who recorded a famous 1-0 win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Leny Yoro

Status: Out
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: December 3 (vs. Arsenal)

Yoro will be out until at least the start of December due to the fractured metatarsal that he suffered during a pre-season clash with Arsenal, with his debut for the club potentially coming against the Gunners in the Premier League.

Tyrell Malacia

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Malacia missed the entire 2023-24 season due to a serious knee injury which required two separate operations, and the left-back is still not ready to return, but he was able to take part in the warm-up part of a recent training session.

Luke Shaw

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: October 19 (vs. Brentford)

Shaw has been absent early in the season due to a calf problem, and the left-back will again miss out here, but he is expected to be back for the clash with Brentford after the international break.

Kobbie Mainoo

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: October 6 (vs. Aston Villa)

Mainoo was not risked against Porto due to a minor muscular issue which he suffered against Tottenham, but the midfielder has a strong chance of returning to the squad here.

Mason Mount

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Head/knock
Possible return date: October 6 (vs. Aston Villa)

A head injury and a knock contributed to Mount missing out against Porto in the Europa League, but there is a chance that the Englishman could be back in the squad for this contest.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man United have no players suspended for the Premier League clash, with Bruno Fernandes available after his red card against Tottenham was overturned on appeal.
