Deadline day key events
"Mischievous rumours" - Brighton CEO delivers crushing blow to Leicester, Fulham
Leicester City and Fulham have suffered a blow in the pursuit of Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson.
It was reported in early November that a host of Premier League sides were keen on the services of the forward ahead of the January transfer window.
Articles suggested that Ferguson had been put on the loan list for New Year, meaning that he could be an easy target for top-flight suitors.
The Irishman has struggled to make an impact on the South Coast since the arrival of new head coach Fabian Hurzeler following the departure of Roberto De Zerbi.
No Ruben revival: Man United 32-year-old on verge of exit?
Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has reportedly decided that Christian Eriksen does not feature in his plans for the 2025-26 campaign.
The Denmark international was a bit of a surprise starter in the Portuguese's first match in charge, completing 68 minutes of Man United's 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town last weekend.
However, Eriksen was an unused substitute in the 3-2 Europa League success over Bodo/Glimt on Thursday, and he is not expected to be a first-choice option for Amorim moving forward.
There is a consensus that Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo will form the regular partnership in Amorim's 3-4-3 shape, and the ex-Sporting Lisbon boss has also talked up Mason Mount's qualities as he bids to finally ignite his Old Trafford career.
Double renewal? Arsenal 'proactively' working on new contracts for Hale End stars
Arsenal are 'proactively' working to extend the contracts of Hale End stars Ethan Nwaneri and Bukayo Saka, according to a report.
Under the wing of outgoing sporting director Edu - whose shock resignation was announced a few weeks ago - Arsenal have successfully agreed new long-term deals with their core players.
Saka is one of those fundamental cogs to have put pen to paper over the last couple of years, committing himself to the club until 2027 in May 2023, while Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba, Ben White, Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard have all extended their stays too.
Arsenal are not believed to be rushing the search for Edu's replacement and could wait until the season is done and dusted before hiring a successor, having put their full faith in current interim chief Jason Ayto.
Christian Eriksen Man United exit hits 'big obstacle'
Celtic are believed to be considering a move for Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen but a move to Glasgow for the Dane reportedly faces a big obstacle.
The Red Devils delivered a significantly improved performance on Thursday compared to last weekend, with Ruben Amorim securing his first victory since taking charge.
Against Bodo/Glimt, the new head coach started Manuel Ugarte alongside Bruno Fernandes in central midfield, while Mason Mount was deployed in a more advanced role.
This follows a wave of criticism directed at Casemiro and Eriksen, who started in Amorim's first game in charge against Ipswich Town but struggled to keep up with the intensity of his demands.
Ruben Amorim 'has made no requests' for January signings
Manchester United's new head coach Ruben Amorim has not requested any new signings for the January transfer window, according to a report.
The Portuguese tactician secured his first victory for his new employers on Thursday night with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.
That result took the Red Devils to six matches unbeaten, while they have suffered only one loss in their last 11 matches across all competitions.
However, the reality for United in the Premier League is stark, as they have managed just four wins in their 12 matches so far, leaving them well off the pace.
"I'm living my dream" - Alexander-Arnold makes admission amid contract uncertainty
Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has admitted he is 'living his dream' amid rumours of a potential move to Real Madrid.
Alexander-Arnold's future continues to be the subject of much speculation, with his current contract set to expire at the end of the season.
As it stands, the England international will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with an overseas club in January.
Spanish giants Real Madrid have emerged as the favourites to sign Alexander-Arnold if he decides against signing a new Liverpool. deal.
Liverpool join Man United in race for Sporting sensation?
Liverpool have reportedly joined Manchester United in the race to sign Sporting Lisbon star Geovany Quenda.
Man United have been linked with a few Sporting players since Ruben Amorim left the Portuguese giants to take over the reins at Old Trafford.
Midfield Morten Hjulmand and prolific striker Viktor Gyokeres are among those who have been mentioned as possible targets for the Red Devils.
They have also emerged as potential suitors for Quenda, with the Red Devils ready to make a £50m bid to prise the youngster away from the Estadio Jose Alvalade.
Chelsea 'hold positive talks' with teenage contract rebel
Chelsea have allegedly made progress in their efforts to extend the contract of Josh Acheampong.
Having made his debut for the first team under the guidance of Mauricio Pochettino in May, the 18-year-old is viewed as a top prospect at Stamford Bridge.
However, Acheampong's development at the West Londoners has been temporarily halted due to failing to agree terms over an extension to his current deal.
The teenager had been in line to earn regular appearances in the EFL Cup and Conference League until club officials enforced a ban on his participation in competitive games.
Tottenham show 'concrete interest' in Porro replacement
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly identified RB Leipzig's Lutsharel Geertruida as a possible replacement for Pedro Porro.
The Spain international is Tottenham's undisputed first-choice right-back, having started each of the club's 12 Premier League matches this season.
However, Porro's impressive performances have led to speculation that he could be a potential target for Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The European champions are keen to refresh the right side of defence, with Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez both in their 30s.
Transfer battle: Arsenal, Chelsea in 'four-way fight' for Dortmund star
Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly among four Premier League clubs interested in signing Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens.
Dortmund have previously aided the development of top English talents like Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho, before the pair completed big moves away from Signal Iduna Park.
Gittens is the latest highly-rated English youngster to establish himself in the Dortmund side after he joined the club's academy from Manchester City in 2020.
The 20-year-old is now being linked with a potential move back to England after emerging as a potential target for at least four Premier League sides.
Bernabeu bound? Real Madrid 'make contact' over Alexander-Arnold move
Real Madrid have reportedly informed Liverpool of their desire to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold next summer.
The England international is one of three Liverpool stars out of contract at the end of the season, along with Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.
Real Madrid have emerged as the frontrunners to sign Alexander-Arnold if he fails to agree a new contract with the Premier League leaders.
Los Blancos are keen to strengthen the right side of defence, especially as they have seen their squad depth tested by Dani Carvajal's long-term knee injury.
