Barcelona are determined to sign Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek at the start of 2022, according to a report.

Barcelona are reportedly determined to sign Manchester United's Donny van de Beek during the January transfer window but would prefer an initial loan move.

The Netherlands international could be on his way out of Old Trafford at the start of 2022, having struggled to make his mark for the club since arriving from Ajax.

Juventus, Newcastle United and Everton are among the clubs to be linked with the midfielder, while a recent report claimed that there was genuine interest from Barcelona.

According to El Nacional, Ronald Koeman's side are extremely interested in the 24-year-old but could find it difficult to come to an agreement with Man United.

The report claims that the Red Devils are keen to recoup the majority of the £35m that they paid for the Dutchman, but Barcelona are only willing to discuss a loan deal at this stage.

Van de Beek is allegedly keen to discuss a mid-season move to Camp Nou, as he wants to leave Old Trafford in search of more regular football ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
