Bayern Munich intend to beat Manchester United to the signature of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria, according to a report.

Bayern Munich are reportedly keen to beat Manchester United to the signature of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria.

The 25-year-old has entered the final six months of his contract with Monchengladbach and will not be signing an extension at Borussia-Park.

Man United have been strongly linked with the Switzerland international amid suggestions that he could be available for £6m during the January transfer window.

However, according to Bild journalist Christian Falk, Bayern are looking to beat the 20-time English champions to the midfielder's signature.

Zakaria has again been an important player for his Bundesliga club during the 2021-22 campaign, making 17 appearances in all competitions, contributing two goals and one assist in the process.

The Swiss has scored 11 goals and registered eight assists in 145 outings for Monchengladbach since making the move to the German club from Young Boys in 2017.
