Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for both Manchester City and Manchester United.
Boateng has established himself as a key part of the Bundesliga giants, but the 29-year-old may be allowed to move to a new club at the end of the season.
According to The Sun, that has alerted both City and United, with City boss Pep Guardiola said to be keen on a reunion with a player that he worked with at the Allianz Arena.
Boateng has already spent time at the Etihad Stadium, with 24 outings coming in all competitions during the 2010-11 campaign, although that is unlikely to lessen the chances of a switch to United.
The Germany international still has over three years remaining on his contract, but Bayern could cash in should they receive a significant offer ahead of next season.
