Edinson Cavani tells Manchester United that he does not want to sign a new contract with the club, according to a report.

Edinson Cavani has reportedly told Manchester United that he does not want to sign a new contract with the club and will therefore leave on a free transfer this summer.

The 34-year-old has been in impressive form for the Red Devils during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring 10 times and contributing two assists in 31 appearances in all competitions.

Cavani's existing deal at Old Trafford is due to expire at the end of June, but there is the possibility of a 12-month extension, which would take him through until the end of next season.

The Uruguay international is allegedly not comfortable with life in England and wants to return to South America in order to be closer to his family.

Boca Juniors continue to be strongly linked with the experienced forward, and according to Depo, Cavani has met with Man United chiefs 'in the last hours' to announce his intention to leave.

The South American, who arrived at Old Trafford on a free transfer after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired, has contributed eight goals in 21 Premier League appearances this term.
