Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes that Jose Mourinho will not allow Harry Kane to join the Red Devils.

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has said that he does not expect Manchester United to sign Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane.

Reports over the past few weeks have suggested that Kane could be open to an exit from Jose Mourinho's side in the near future, and Old Trafford is said to be his preferred destination.

However, speaking during an Instagram Live session, Ferdinand believes that Mourinho would not be willing to sell his star striker to a Premier League rival.

"Harry Kane to Man United? You want him to go Man United? Would I take Harry Kane now? Of course, you would," Ferdinand said.

"If he's fit and he's raring to go, you take Harry Kane to Manchester United. 100% because he is a top player. You are guaranteeing goals. In the Premier League, you are guaranteeing goals. He scores goals.

"But I do not see Tottenham letting Harry Kane go. And with Mourinho there, I do not see Mourinho letting him go to Manchester United."

Kane has registered 181 goals in 278 games for the Lilywhites.
