Juventus not planning talks over Cristiano Ronaldo contract extension

Juventus director Fabio Paratici affirms that the club are not currently planning talks over a new contract for star attacker Cristiano Ronaldo.

Juventus director Fabio Paratici has affirmed that the club are not prioritising a new deal for Cristiano Ronaldo at this moment in time.

The 36-year-old's contract in Turin is set to expire at the end of the 2021-22 campaign, and a sensational return to Manchester United has been mooted amid the uncertainty surrounding his future.

Speculation over the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's next career move intensified after Juventus crashed out of the Champions League to Porto in midweek, but club chief Paratici has revealed that no contract talks are currently being planned with Ronaldo.

Speaking to Sky Italia, Paratici said: "There's still another year of contract [expiring in June 2022]. Cristiano's contract renewal is not an immediate issue on the agenda, there's time to talk about it."

Italian journalist Emanuele Gamba also claimed that Manchester United were offered the chance to re-sign Ronaldo last summer, but the Red Devils rejected the opportunity to reunite with their former attacker.

The Portugal international has registered 92 goals and 22 assists for the Italian champions since his arrival in 2018, winning two Serie A crowns during that time.
