Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly dealt a blow ahead of potentially making an approach to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.

Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly regarded as outsiders to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham this summer.

Ever since Bellingham departed Birmingham City for the Westfalenstadion in 2020, speculation has persisted regarding his eventual return to English football.

With several clubs such as Liverpool and United allegedly prepared to spend big on the 18-year-old, a transfer could theoretically occur during the next transfer window.

However, according to Bild, the England international has already decided that he will remain at the Bundesliga giants until at least 2023.

Such a decision will be strongly supported by Dortmund, who are already expected to lose forward Erling Braut Haaland courtesy of his alleged £67m release clause.

Bellingham's contract is due to expire at the end of 2024-25, leaving a transfer more likely in 2023 providing that he does not extend his existing terms.
