Liverpool to beat Manchester United to Bruno Fernandes?

A report claims that Liverpool are trying to beat Manchester United, among other sides, to the signing of Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

Liverpool are reportedly hoping to strike a cut-price deal with Sporting Lisbon for in-demand midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

The 24-year-old has 23 goals and 13 assists for the Portuguese giants this season, leading to speculation that he is wanted by Manchester United, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan.

According to a report carried by The Mirror, though, Liverpool are trying to get to Fernandes's signature first.

Sporting vice president Francisco Salgado Zenha has admitted that his side desperately need to raise some cash, so they may be forced to sell the Portugal international for less than his £86m release clause.

Fernandes, who joined the Lions from Sampdoria in 2017, is said to have been targeted by Jurgen Klopp as he will provide Liverpool's midfield with something different.
