Liverpool, Manchester United 'to battle for Aaron Ramsey'

Liverpool and Manchester United are both considering January moves for Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, according to a report.

Liverpool and Manchester United are both reportedly considering January moves for Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

Ramsey, 27, will see his current deal at the Emirates Stadium expire at the end of this season.

Talks between the two parties over an extension broke down last month, and it is now looking increasingly likely that the Wales international will leave Arsenal either in January or at the end of the season.

According to the London Evening Standard, Liverpool and United are both closely monitoring developments, and senior figures at Arsenal believe that at least one of the clubs will try to sign Ramsey in early 2019.

Ramsey, who was linked with United in 2008 before joining Arsenal from Cardiff City, has scored once and provided three assists in eight Premier League appearances this season.
