Federico Macheda close to Cardiff City move?

Cardiff City are reportedly close to signing Federico Macheda on a free transfer following his release by Manchester United.

Federico Macheda is close to sealing a move to Cardiff City following his release by Manchester United, according to a report.

The 22-year-old was released by the Red Devils after failing to break into the first-team squad at Old Trafford despite a bright start to his career.

Bluebirds boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to pair the striker with Javi Guerra to fire the club back in the Premier League, reports The People.

Macheda scored 13 goals in the Championship last season in loan spells at Birmingham City and Doncaster Rovers.
