Manchester United 'eye loan move for Marcos Llorente'

Atletico Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente emerges as a loan target for Manchester United, according to a report.

Manchester United could reportedly attempt to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente on loan.

Injuries to Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay have left the Red Devils short of options in the middle of the park.

United continue to be linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon captain Bruno Fernandes, but according to the Manchester Evening News, the club also want to sign a central midfielder during the January window.

The report claims that Llorente has been identified by the English club's scouts as the ideal signing, having struggled for action since arriving at Atletico over the summer.

The 24-year-old, who joined Diego Simeone's side on a five-year contract ahead of the 2019-20 campaign, has only started three times in La Liga during the current season.

Fred and Nemanja Matic are currently United's only fit senior central midfielders.
