Manchester United are reportedly on red alert, with Raphael Varane believed to have informed Real Madrid that he wants to leave the Spanish capital in this summer's transfer window.
Varane's future has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks, with United strongly linked with a move for the France international.
Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane recently played down suggestions that the 25-year-old could leave the Bernabeu at the end of the 2018-19 campaign.
However, according to El Chiringuito, Varane - also linked with Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus - has now told the European champions that he wants to leave.
United are widely expected to move for a new centre-back in this summer's transfer window, with Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly said to be amongst the club's targets.
Varane has made 268 appearances for Madrid since a 2011 move from Lens, scoring 12 times in the process.
