Supposed Manchester United transfer target Saul Niguez has turned down a new contract offer from Atletico Madrid, according to a report.
Throughout the recent January transfer window the 21-year-old was heavily linked with the Red Devils, who have been tipped to renew their interest in the summer.
Spanish publication AS now claims that United's pursuit has prompted Atleti to begin negotiations over fresh terms.
However, the report adds that their first proposal was rejected by the player's father, with more talks expected to get underway shortly.
Saul's current deal at the Vicente Calderon runs until June 2020.
