Manchester United reportedly consider a summer swoop for Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole after outlining an approach for his teammate Frank Lampard.

Manchester United are reportedly keen to lure Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole to Old Trafford, along with Blues midfielder Frank Lampard.

The former Premier League champions have been linked with a swoop for Lampard, who is due to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, and now United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to have targeted a double capture from the Blues.

Cole is thought to have been offered a one-year contract to stay at Chelsea but has yet to sign the deal, which has prompted United to consider a move for the 32-year-old, according to The Metro.

Reports have claimed that the North-West outfit are keen to offer Cole and Lampard one-year deals with an option of an additional 12 months.

Cole has also been linked with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
