Manchester United are reportedly weighing up a move for Sporting Lisbon's teenage left-back Nuno Mendes.
The 17-year-old is regarded as one of the best prospects in his position, despite the fact that he has yet to make a senior appearance.
Mendes shares an agent with United star Bruno Fernandes and, according Portuguese outlet Record, the Red Devils are hoping to use their connections to land the youngster.
The report indicates that United previously tried to sign Mendes in January, but they did not negotiate a fee with Sporting at the time.
However, a number of other unnamed clubs around Europe are believed to have since joined the Premier League side in the running for the defender's signature.
