Former Manchester United captain Bryan Robson asks Wayne Rooney to reconsider any plans to leave Old Trafford this summer.

Former Manchester United captain Bryan Robson has warned Wayne Rooney that he would regret leaving Old Trafford this summer.

Rooney's future has been the subject of heated speculation during the close season, with manager David Moyes adamant that the player is not for sale.

Robson believes that the England international forward remains part of United's plans for next season and should stick with the Premier League champions.

He told BBC Sport: "Wayne's a great footballer and sometimes when you're a great footballer you look at pastures and ask are they greener than where you're at?

"He's got everything you could possibly want at the football club so, hopefully, he can be happy and entertain us.

"As a football supporter and as a Manchester United supporter I want to see the best players playing at our club."

Both Robson and Rooney were present yesterday as United announced a five-year sponsorship deal with Russian airline Aeroflot, worth a reported £8m per annum.
