Manchester United could miss out on signing Brazilian youngster Lucas Moura as Sao Paulo prepare to offer the highly-rated prospect a new contract.
The 19-year-old has been constantly linked with a switch to Old Trafford but recent reports had claimed that a proposed move had been called off.
Sao Paulo's director of football, Adalberto Baptista told UOL. "It's possible we change his contract. He has four more years of contract. We may call him to extend, renegotiate his contract, maybe for 18 more months."
Despite reports claiming that a move to the former Premier League champions is no longer on the table, Moura recently claimed that he will make a decision on his future after Brazil's campaign at the London 2012 Olympics.
