Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez has reportedly earmarked Manchester United as his preferred destination for a summer transfer.
The 26-year-old was persistently linked with a move to Old Trafford over the past two transfer windows, but he ultimately remained at Atletico and played an important role in their 2020-21 La Liga triumph.
However, Atletico director general Miguel Angel Gil has opened the door for Saul to leave should he wish, with Diego Simeone's side seeking to negate the financial losses arising from the coronavirus pandemic.
According to The Mirror, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are both in the race for Saul's signature, but the Spain international has his sights set on a move to Man United.
The report adds that Saul possesses a £60m release clause in his Atletico contract - which does not expire until 2026 - but the Spanish champions are willing to entertain offers of £40m.
The former Real Madrid youngster scored two goals and set up one more in 33 La Liga appearances this term, but he has not been included in Spain's Euro 2020 squad.
