Manchester United target Wesley Sneijder available for £16m

Galatasaray president Unal Aysal reveals that Wesley Sneijder has a release clause worth £16m in his contract amid reports linking the midfielder to Manchester United.

Galatasaray president Unal Aysal has revealed that Wesley Sneijder could leave the Turkish outfit for £16m this summer.

The Netherlands international has been linked with Manchester United for some time, but a move has so far failed to materialise.

There have been suggestions that the Red Devils may consider a fresh approach for the midfielder, who is currently at the World Cup playing under Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal, who will take his place as United's new manager after the tournament in Brazil.

"Wesley Sneijder has a release clause set at €20m (£16m)," The Express quotes Aysal as saying. "Any team that give us that money and he wants to go, we can't keep him. Legally speaking, we have no right."

Despite Aysal revealing Sneijder's price tag, new Galatasaray manager Cesare Prandelli has expressed a desire to keep hold of the midfielder.
