Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to rival Manchester United in the race to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly identified Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes as a potential summer signing.

Fernandes has just enjoyed the best domestic campaign of his career, with a total of 20 goals and 13 assists coming from 33 outings in Portugal's top flight.

The 24-year-old's form has led to interest from the Premier League, and Manchester United are currently regarded as favourites to push through a deal.

A Bola claims, however, that Spurs are ready to rival United with a big-money approach for Fernandes in the coming weeks.

Spurs may require a long-term replacement for Christian Eriksen, who has suggested this week that he is ready to take on a new challenge.

Sporting are likely to demand in excess of £50m for Fernandes.
