Tottenham Hotspur have made plans to rival Manchester United for the signing of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer, according to a report.
The Serbian has long been linked with a move to some of Europe's biggest clubs, but no transfer has ever materialised over the years.
However, that could be set to change before next season according to La Lazio Siamo Noi, who are reporting that Spurs manager Antonio Conte, and Sporting Director Fabio Paratici, are targeting a move for the 27-year-old.
Any potential move would see the North London side competing with the Red Devils, who are also said to be interested in the Lazio man as they look to bolster their central midfield options.
Milinkovic-Savic's contract expires in the summer of 2024, and with Lazio valuing him at around £65m, they could well look to cash in before his value decreases.
The report outlines how Spurs would need to qualify for next season's Champions League to retain any hope of landing their target, which they remain on course to achieve as they sit fourth in the Premier League table.
United meanwhile are struggling down in seventh, six points behind Spurs in the top four ahead of their fixture with Norwich City and Old Trafford on Saturday.
