Manchester United are reportedly planning to table a club-record £40m offer for Bayern Munich star Toni Kroos this summer.
The Bundesliga giants have expressed unwillingness to sell the midfielder, but could be swayed by the amount the Red Devils are offering, according to The Mirror.
Kroos's contract expires in the summer of 2015, after which he could leave the club on a free transfer.
United executives are said to trust manager David Moyes's judgement, and have agreed to bankroll the deal should Bayern accept their offer.
Moyes has already brought in two midfielders during his first season in charge, with Marouane Fellaini joining from former club Everton, and Juan Mata arriving from Chelsea in January.
