Victor Valdes's Manchester United stay has come to an end after the Premier League club confirmed the Spanish goalkeeper's release on Friday.
The former Barcelona mainstay, signed as a free agent in January 2015 as back-up to David de Gea, made just two appearances for the Red Devils 13 months ago.
Valdes, one of the most decorated goalkeepers of all time with multiple domestic and international titles, was then sent out to Belgian side Standard Liege on loan in January this year after falling out of favour with then-manager Louis van Gaal.
Man Utd, now managed by Jose Mourinho, have also released fellow goalkeeper George Dorrington, as well as midfielders Nick Powell and Oliver Rathbone.
