Preview: Torino vs. Napoli

Sports Mole previews the match between Torino and Napoli in Serie A.

Torino host in-form Napoli on Sunday night looking to stretch their current unbeaten league record to 12 games.

Il Toro haven't lost in Serie A since a last-minute defeat to Juventus on November 29, but they only sit in 10th after recording six draws during the same period.

If they are to earn a European spot at the end of the season, coach Giampiero Ventura needs to guide his team to more victories, and he will likely be relying on Fabio Quagliarella to build on his first goal in four games after netting in the Europa League.

However, Ventura has options in his attack, and he could include Josef Martinez should he choose to rotate his frontmen for their third game in the space of eight days.

Napoli travel to Stadio Olimpico with a recent league record that includes five wins from six games, a run that has taken them to within three points of second-placed Roma.

Rafael Benitez's team have benefited from Roma's run of draws and they can move level with their rivals in the table if they can notch their seventh away success of the campaign.

Striker Gonzalo Higuain is likely to return to the starting lineup after he was absent from the 2-0 win over Sassuolo last weekend.

However, winger Dries Mertens will be missing from the squad after he was sent off after coming on as a second-half substitute in that game.
