Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has claimed that he 'needs' in-demand striker Edinson Cavani to stay at the club.
Cavani, who has scored 23 goals in all competitions this season, has recently been linked with moves to Arsenal and Manchester City.
"For Cavani I have already received a €55m (£46.1m) bid, and I said no. I need him, not the money," De Laurentiis told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I trust in his professionalism. He knows that here he is the number one, while I believe that in other places or in teams he could not identify with the city, the jersey and the fans like here."
Cavani signed a five-year contract extension with Napoli over the summer.
