The Magpies are far away from escaping the relegation drama, however, and will arrive at Molineux to take on a confident side that has managed three league wins on the bounce, including a 3-1 victory at Everton last time out.
The last time these two sides met at Molineux in February 2017, Rafael Benitez's side took all three points courtesy of a solitary Aleksandar Mitrovic strike in a season that saw them go on to be crowned Championship champions.

About Molineux
Molineux has been the home of Wolves since 1889 and was the first stadium to be built for a league club in England. The current capacity is just over 32,000, although the club's wealthy Chinese owners Fosun have outlined plans to increase capacity to 50,000 in the coming years.
Away supporters are generally housed in the lower tier of the Steve Bull stand, named after the club's all-time leading goalscorer, who was instrumental in the club's rise back up the Football League in the 1990s. The Steve Bull is on the East side of the stadium, opposite the dugout, and can be accessed from Molineux Street.

A limited number of away tickets for this fixture remain on sale at the standard league price of £30 for adults through the Newcastle website, by calling 0344 372 1892 or visiting the box office at St James'.
How to get there
By coach: The Back Page still have seats available on their coaches, which will depart St James' at midday on Monday. The coaches are expected to arrive back in Newcastle between 3am and 4am on Tuesday morning.
By train: There are no direct services from Newcastle to Wolverhampton, so fans travelling by train will need to change at Birmingham New Street and then travel back north to Wolverhampton on a local service. The last service to ensure arrival in time for the game departs Newcastle at 3.15pm, arriving in Wolverhampton at 7.13pm.
For return train travel after the game, the last service to guarantee arrival back in Newcastle that night departs at the unfeasible time of 8.49pm. Supporters staying overnight can catch the first train at 5.24am, arriving home at 9.47am.
By road: The fastest route to Wolverhampton involves taking the A1, the M1 and the M6 toll (a charge of £6.40 for a car) with a travel time of between 3 hours 30 minutes and 5 hours. There are no planned roadworks on the preferred route and we would advise leaving Newcastle by 2pm to guarantee safe arrival in time for the match.
Parking is extremely limited in Wolverhampton on a matchday and streets around the stadium are usually closed to traffic in the hours immediately before and after a game. Away fans are advised to arrive early in order to secure a space. Our recommendation is to nab a spot in one of the many car parks advertised along the Stafford Road on the Way to Molineux (exit the M54 at J2), where you will also find pre-match pubs such as the Moreton Arms and the Gatehouse.
Options closer to Molineux include the Civic Centre, Birch Street and the car park at Wolverhampton rail station.

Expect a dry evening in the Black Country on Monday night but a cold one - with temperatures likely to be at 2 degrees for much of the match, we advise that you wrap up warm. A half-time cup of Bovril may be needed!
Catering options at Molineux
Supporters purchasing food and drink at Molineux are advised to bring cash if possible as some kiosks remain cash-only, although card payments are accepted in general. The typical cost of a pie is £3.10, while the only lager available is Carling at the cost of £4 a pint. Hot drinks are priced at £2.20 and packets of pork scratchings cost £1.20.
Where to go for a drink in Wolverhampton
Over the last year, following Chinese firm Fosun International's investment into Wolves, the number of options for pre-match drinking has increased significantly in the city. Unfortunately for away fans, the majority of venues cater solely for home fans and this is strictly enforced with bouncers at every venue.
The designated away pub is The Blue Brick right next to Wolverhampton train station, which is around a 10-minute walk from Molineux.
For away fans travelling by car, exit the M54 at J2 onto the Stafford Road for friendly pubs such as the Moreton Arms and the Gatehouse before making your way on to Molineux.
An alternative popular option for away fans is to drink in Birmingham beforehand - Broad Street is a 10 to 15-minute walk away from New Street - and then catch a train up to Wolverhampton, which will take around 25 minutes.
For fans wanting to grab a sandwich before the game, a large ASDA is located directly next to Molineux's Stan Cullis Stand, although this does get very busy in the run-up to kickoff. Alternatively, a large number of catering stands are located around Molineux, in particular outside the Billy Wright stand on Wolverhampton Road.
