Papiss Cisse: 'I won't spit again'

Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse admits that he must improve his behaviour after returning from a seven-match ban for spitting.

Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse has vowed to improved his behaviour after returning from a seven-match ban for spitting.

The striker came on as a substitute in Newcastle's 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion, his first appearance since spitting at Manchester United's Jonny Evans.

The Senegal international has witnessed his side stumble down the Premier League table and admits that he must now work hard to ensure their survival.

"It's a good feeling," Cisse told Sky Sports. "I'm happy to get back because after my ban I had an injury and an operation but I feel okay and I'm happy to be back.

"I knew I had to look at myself. I don't like to talk too much about my suspension because even though he [Evans] did something first, I knew I did something bad and I shouldn't have reacted like that but won't do it again."

Newcastle are two points ahead of 18th-placed Hull City in the table with two games to play this season.
