Newcastle United's Mathieu Debuchy 'misses' European football

Mathieu Debuchy hints that he could leave Newcastle United after admitting that he 'misses' European football.

Newcastle United defender Mathieu Debuchy has hinted that he would consider a move away from St James' Park after admitting that he 'misses' European football.

The 28-year-old, who joined Newcastle from Lille last year, has been linked with French champions Paris Saint-Germain and Serie A side Roma.

"I have discovered English charm, which is very hard, Newcastle and their extraordinary fans," ESPN quotes Debuchy as saying. "It's really incredible to play in that atmosphere.

"Having said that, I miss European football and the Champions League in particular. For the moment, I'm concentrating on the World Cup, and we'll see about the rest afterwards."

Debuchy and his France teammates currently sit at the top of Group E at the World Cup in Brazil.
