Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Newcastle United.
Since returning from a season on loan with Rangers, where he made 32 appearances in all competitions, Worrall has regained his place in the Forest starting lineup under Sabri Lamouchi.
However, as a result of helping Forest move into contention at the top of the Championship standings, it appears that the 22-year-old is now attracting interest from the Premier League.
According to The Sun, Newcastle are keen to sign the centre-back during the January window, aware that the Englishman has less than a year left on his contract at the City Ground.
The Magpies have conceded 13 goals from their opening seven games in the top flight, although five of those strikes came at Leicester City last weekend.
Forest will likely move to hold contract negotiations with Worrall before the end of 2019 in a bid to fend off any interest.
