Newcastle United have reportedly withdrawn from negotiations with Lyon over the signing of striker Bafetimbi Gomis.
The Magpies have been constantly linked with the player during this summer transfer window, with reports claiming that the North East club lodged a £6.9m bid for the 27-year-old.
Following Lyon's decision to reject the offer, Newcastle, who have Joe Kinnear leading the club's transfer dealings, have pulled out of negotiations, according to Sky Sports News.
Gomis, who has been dubbed the 'Baby Drogba', is said to have told Lyon last month that he wants to leave the club.
