Newcastle United defender Danny Simpson has reportedly threatened to walk out on the club over a pay dispute.
The full-back, who has one year left on his current deal, is in negotiations over a new contract.
However, he is thought to be unhappy over the Magpies' increase of his wages from £10,000 per week to £25,000 per week, according to the Daily Mail.
Newcastle are expected to improve the deal with a number of performance-related bonuses.
Simpson moved to the Sports Direct Arena from Manchester United in 2010 following a loan spell on Tyneside.
