Vincent Kompany: 'More have to follow Sepp Blatter out of FIFA'

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany calls for more changes to be made in the FIFA hierarchy following Sepp Blatter's resignation.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has called for more FIFA members to stand down following the resignation of president Sepp Blatter this afternoon.

Blatter stunned the world of football by announcing that he plans to step down from his role just four days after being re-elected for a fifth term in office.

His resignation comes at a turbulent time for the organisation, and Kompany has demanded greater "transparency" among world football's governing body after it was rocked by corruption allegations last week.

"Blatter wasn't sole responsible, more have to follow. Transparency and voting reform, then we move on and bring back ethics. #FIFA," he wrote on Twitter.

Beaten candidate Prince Ali has confirmed that he will stand again when the next election takes place.
