Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood has told youngster Harry Kane that he will "get his time" in the first team if he remains patient.
The 20-year-old striker made his fourth Premier League appearance of the season on Sunday when he came off the bench during Spurs' 1-0 win over Cardiff City.
Despite Kane's limited opportunities at White Hart Lane, Sherwood is confident that he will become a more important member of the squad in the future.
"Harry Kane has done brilliant," he told reporters. "Since he's been back as the third striker he's been fantastic in training.
"He's had to be very patient. If I was Harry Kane, I'd be banging my door down every day and saying: 'Why aren't I getting an opportunity to play?' But he's respectful enough to know that we've got world-class strikers. He will get his time."
Kane has scored one goal in 11 games for Tottenham so far this season.
