Gareth Southgate names final England Under-21 squad for European Championships

England Under-21 boss Gareth Southgate cuts four players from his final squad for this summer's European Championships.

England Under-21 boss Gareth Southgate has confirmed his final 23-man squad for this summer's European Championships.

Southgate has cut four names from the group after naming a 27-man party last month.

Eric Dier, Benik Afobe, Patrick Bamford and Cauley Woodrow are the quartet who have missed out on a place in the final squad.

Meanwhile, the likes of Danny Ings, Saido Berahino, Calum Chambers and Ruben Loftus-Cheek all make the cut.

England's Under-21s play their final warm-up match on June 11 against Belarus at Oakwell before flying out to the Czech Republic three days later.

England Under-21 squad in full:

Goalkeepers: Marcus Bettinelli (Fulham), Jonathan Bond (Watford), Jack Butland (Stoke City)

Defenders: Calum Chambers (Arsenal), Luke Garbutt (Everton), Ben Gibson (Middlesbrough), Carl Jenkinson (Arsenal, loan to West Ham United), Michael Keane (Burnley), Liam Moore (Leicester City), John Stones (Everton), Matt Targett (Southampton)

Midfielders: Tom Carroll (Tottenham Hotspur, loan to Swansea City), Nathaniel Chalobah (Chelsea), Will Hughes (Derby County), Jake Forster-Caskey (Brighton & Hove Albion), Jesse Lingard (Manchester United), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea), Alex Pritchard (Tottenham Hotspur), Nathan Redmond (Norwich City), James Ward-Prowse (Southampton)
