Switzerland's justice ministry has accepted an American request to extradite Eduardo Li as part of the ongoing FIFA bribery case.
The former Costa Rican Soccer Federation president was dismissed from FIFA's executive committee following his arrest in May at a hotel in Zurich.
In a statement, the Swiss authorities said that the 56-year-old has been "accused of taking bribes in connection with the sale of marketing rights for World Cup 2018 qualifiers to a US sports marketing company".
Legally, Li has the right to appeal the extradition order within the next 30 days.
