Norwich City have stepped up their prepations for the new Championship season by moving for out-of-contract midfielder Gary O'Neil.
The 31-year-old is a free agent after being released by Queens Park Rangers following their promotion back to the Premier League.
"I got a phone call the other day from Norwich saying that they were interested," O'Neil told talkSPORT.
"I've been in talks with them for a couple of days. It's looking good, it's basically all done. We just need to sign things.
"My last two seasons in the Championship have earned promotion - the first with West Ham and QPR last year. So it's two from two, so I'm looking to make it a hat-trick this year if we get things sorted at Norwich."
Norwich City begin life back in the Championship with a trip to newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 10.
