Nottingham Forest chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi has revealed his delight at the appointment of former player Stuart Pearce as manager, with the 51-year-old taking over on July 1.
Al Hasawi said that Pearce's CV, which includes positions at Manchester City and the England Under-21s, was a big part of the reason that he was appointed, as well as his affiliation with the club having played there for 12 years.
"I am really happy, delighted, to have Stuart with us in Nottingham. He is a very good manager, he was in the national team and Manchester City, so he has a big CV and I wish him all the best with us," he said.
"To be honest I am really happy and honoured as the club's chairman, and also for the fans too because the fans like Stuart. We are going to start in the summer and are looking forward to it."
Pearce played for Forest between 1985 and 1997.
