Helder Postiga insists that Portugal's strikers should not be blamed for last night's 1-0 defeat to Germany.

Helder Postiga has insisted that Portugal's strikers were not to blame for their 1-0 loss to Germany last night.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker formed part of the Portuguese attacking lineup that failed to breach the German's net in Lviv.

However, Postiga has insisted that the whole team should take responsibility for the defeat.

"I obviously feel more responsibility as I play up front and we have gone through the whole game without scoring," the 29-year-old explained to Goal.com.

"But it is sometimes not only down to me. Football is a team sport."

The loss has left Portugal bottom of Group B.
