Preston North End chairman Peter Ridsdale has revealed that the club are still in the market for a "proven goalscorer" despite already making 13 signings this summer.
Lee Trundle is the most recent Preston arrival, but Ridsdale has announced that he is hoping a long-term target could still join the club.
"We have someone in mind who we've been tracking all summer," Ridsdale told the Lancashire Evening Post.
"He's a proven goalscorer and we'd like to do a deal at the right price."
Graham Westley was appointed Preston manager in January this year.
