Midfielder Schaars, 29, has put pen to paper on a three-year contract, while 21-year-old right-back Arias has committed his future to the Dutch giants for four years.
Schaars has been capped 19 times by the Netherlands at senior international level.
Meanwhile, Arias has represented Colombia at various youth levels.
