Former Rangers striker Nacho Novo is reportedly on the verge of joining Greenock Morton on a short-term deal.

Former Rangers striker Nacho Novo is reportedly on the verge of joining Greenock Morton on a short-term deal.

The 34-year-old had been hoping to return to Ibrox, but, after the 54-time Scottish champions failed to make him an offer, he was forced to look elsewhere.

According to Sky Sports News, Novo is initially likely to commit to Morton until January.

The Spaniard had an unsuccessful trial at Kilmarnock earlier this season.
