Championship playoff race gets live Sky Sports coverage on final day

Sky Sports chooses to focus on the battle for the fourth and final Championship playoff spot with their two live games on the final day of the season.

Sky Sports has chosen to focus on the battle for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Championship with their two live games on the final day of the season this weekend.

The UK broadcaster of live Football League games will show Reading's home game against Burnley and Brighton & Hove Albion's trip to Nottingham Forest - both of which kick off at 12.15pm on Saturday.

After Wigan Athletic guaranteed their place in the playoffs by winning their game in hand against Birmingham City last night, Reading and Brighton are the only two clubs who can fill the final spot for the end-of-season promotion tussle.

Reading go into the final day in sixth spot on 70 points, three adrift of Wigan and one better off than Brighton in seventh.

Brighton will nab sixth spot if they better Reading's result, while the Royals can snatch fifth place if they beat Burnley and Wigan fall to Blackburn Rovers.

Whoever finishes fifth will play Queens Park Rangers in the two-legged playoff semi-final, with Derby County waiting for the side that ends up sixth.

The only other meaningful place to be decided on the final day is the third relegation spot as Yeovil Town and Barnsley are already doomed.

Last night's defeat means that Birmingham start Saturday in the drop zone, but they are one of four teams - the others being Doncaster Rovers, Millwall and Blackpool - who can go down on Saturday.
