Reading manager Brian McDermott has questioned the referee's decision to award three penalties in their 2-0 defeat to Birmingham City this afternoon.
Adam Rooney had already given City the lead before Reading were awarded a spot kick, only to see it saved. Birmingham later scored one and missed one of their own, leaving McDermott scratching his head at the ref's decisions.
However, despite disagreeing with the three spot kicks given, McDermott believed that his side should have had one that was not awarded.
"It was a funny decision in the first half when the referee didn't give us a penalty which would have made 1-1," he said.
"There could have been a sending off and he missed it and then he gave three silly penalties in the second half.
"It is all irrelevant now but I would not have liked have come here wanting a point and not getting it because of that decision."
Reading had already secured the Championship title before the match, finishing the season one point clear of second-placed Southampton.
