Rafael Benitez: 'Real Madrid will not push players returning from injury'

Rafael Benitez says that the club will not push any Real Madrid players coming back from injury in order to avoid further issues with his squad.

Rafael Benitez has said that the club will not push any Real Madrid players coming back from injury in order to avoid further issues with his squad.

Los Blancos have had numerous injuries over the last two months, and manager Benitez says that returning players such as Sergio Ramos, James Rodriguez and Karim Benzema will not be pushed into action at the first opportunity.

"Our priority is doing the best for Real Madrid and the players," he told reporters. "Keylor [Navas] has overdone it a little and we are not going to risk him, or Sergio, James or Benzema.

"We could push them but we don't want to because we have a lot of games to get through still."

Real are next in action against Las Palmas at the Bernabeu this afternoon, and currently sit top of La Liga ahead of Barcelona on goal difference.
